We are using HP Elitedesk 800G3 SFF machines with Intel HD 630 (any combination of drivers doesn't seem to make any difference). This also seems to be happening on some of our laptops and when users dock and undock constantly, the problem is unavoidable as the monitor configuration is constantly changing. When there is nothing other than a blank/black screen we can overcome this by resetting the display driver (Windows 10 clients) with a key combination of CTRL, SHIFT WinKey and B, but we can't keep asking our users to do this when the display decides to go into this mode. We also notice that failure to detach the phantom displays results in the overall use of the computer being very laggy/delayed (I assume because of the overlay/indirect display driver working hard to output to something that isnt there). We then have to manually go to Display Properties and disconnect the phantom monitors otherwise there is a risk that the machine will boot up to a black screen as it is outputting to a monitor that it thinks is attached and not the "actual" monitor. There are a number of symptoms we've experienced.Ĩ Generic Non-PNP monitors (on top of the two physical attached monitors) of which some appear to be reportedly attached. In the previous releases 7.15 and lower, we always installed in Standard Mode for the exact same problems discussed here. Hard-restarting the system does not help, however it's possible to connect to the PC via TeamViewer which reveals that screen #3 is set as a main screen so the login prompt is shown there and invisible to the user. Sometimes when the user returns to the office (after using Citrix remote connection) the screens are black and he is unable to unlock the console session. This configuration is present whether or not an actual Citrix HDX connection is running or not.Īfter uninstalling Citrix VDA the display configuration is correct again (only 2 physical screens detected). The remaining displays are in a Disconnected state. Displays #2 and #1 are the physical screens, where #3 appears to be the Citrix virtual display. When Citrix VDA is installed, additional 8 displays will appear in the system, so total of 10 displays are detected (see attached picture).
